Carpet impregnation and deodorisation has its own laws and through the inspection of carpets and textile floor coverings, it is found that each has its own unique characteristics and each inspection is carefully evaluated for the proper application of this standard. In some cases, deviation from the defined standard is possible and in such cases, common sense and professional judgment must be exercised in all cases.

Carpet inspection in the context of carpet impregnation is very important. One of the important steps is to determine and establish the PH value of the carpet fibre and fabric in order to select the appropriate technological concept in terms of using the appropriate cleaning chemical and special cleaners of the PROCHEM Professional™ system. IICRC certification leads us to know and follow the basic principles of professional carpet renovation methodology, namely evaluating PH factors and selecting the appropriate chemical and technological approach for the use and phasing of each cleaning ingredient in a multi-phase carpet and textile renovation. This ensures that the correct cleaning solution is selected so that the carpet fibre remains soft, fine and supple and is not exposed to unnecessarily high alkalinity which is not beneficial to the fibre.

Carpet impregnation and PH value (i.e. “hydrogen potential”), also known as the hydrogen exponent, is a number used in chemistry to express whether an aqueous solution reacts acidically or alkaline. It is a logarithmic scale with a range of values from 0 to 14 (for most aqueous solutions, solutions of strong acids and bases or non-aqueous solutions may take different values); neutral water has a pH of 7 under standard conditions. For acids, the pH is less than seven – the smaller the number, the “stronger” the acid; in contrast, bases have a pH > 7, the larger the number, the “stronger” the base. Our company uses professional PH meters – digital instruments used for sampling, which, thanks to a special laser lens, measure the PH of the surface before and after cleaning.

Knowing and understanding the PH scale will help us avoid the dangers of using water-based cleaners that are too strong and could damage the carpet fibers or cause the dye to come loose or brown the carpet backing. It is very important to know that each step up or down on the scale from PH7 means an increase in the strength of acidity or alkalinity by a factor of ten.

IMPREGNATION AND CLEANING PROTECTION

ImpregnationCarpet impregnation extends the life of upholstery fabric and carpets, protects them from wear and tear, increases their resistance to water or oil-based soils and makes them easier to clean afterwards. Carpet impregnation is rubbed on to protect the fabric or carpet from heavy soiling or stains. It runs the gamut from homes with small children or pets to movie theater or bus seats to hotels and restaurants.

Carpet impregnation and carpet revival protection is very important. It helps to preserve cleaned materials for a significantly longer period of time, as the cleaned fibre is protected by a layer of molecules that coat the core of the fibre, preventing dirt from penetrating the carpet fibre and making it much easier to renew and maintain the carpet as all dirt sticks to the surface of the carpet for the duration of the impregnation.

PROTECTIVE CARPET PROTECTION

Carpet impregnation with anti-soiling long term protection for textile flooring and carpets wraps the fibre with an invisible protective film. Dirt does not stick to the fibre and can be effectively vacuumed out. The result is a clean, colour-bright, non-stained carpet. Baygard’s anti-pilling impregnation stabilises the fibre and promotes its natural regeneration. Deformation and felting of the carpet fibre will be prevented and trampling and the formation of knotted paths will be reduced. When wet cleaning dense and high fibre, the formation of the so-called “lambskin effect” is prevented.

Carpet impregnation with anti-pilling protection and results in a clear carpet texture and pattern and long-lasting protection against greying and pilling. Baygard impregnation remains stable when dust is vacuumed off and even under mechanical stress (e.g. ochozheniya) for up to 2 years. Carpet impregnation is suitable for textile floor coverings, wall coverings and textile wallpapers, artificial and synthetic carpets, natural – wool and Persian carpets or carpets made of all common fibres such as polyamide, polyacrylic, polypropylene, polyester, wool, cotton and their blends.

IMPREGNATION OF CARPETS WITH WATERPROOF PROTECTION

Fluoroseal Plus Carpet Impregnation is a high quality professional grade protectant that contains Dupont fluoropolymer (Dupont is an American polymer manufacturer under the Teflon brand) and a special stain inhibiting additive that work together to prevent stains and soiling. Fluoroseal Plus is suitable for use on most carpets and carries the WoolSafe maintenance authorisation for wool carpets and rugs.

The Carpet Impregnation effectively resists water and oil and as a protective agent, provides a durable water-based impregnation against soiling and stains and also facilitates subsequent cleaning. It is designed for synthetic fabrics including nylon, polyester, acrylic and their blends with natural cellulose fibers that are wet-cleanable or for natural wool materials.

Carpet impregnation and its application is recommended to be carried out at a fibre value of PH4, which creates such suitable conditions for a good bond between the impregnation and the fabric. If a new carpet or sofa is being impregnated with this Fabric Rinse, the material should first be slightly dampened before impregnation.

Carpet Impregnation is applied to the cleaned material, always as the last application. Application should be done with a pressure sprayer equipped with a good quality straight nozzle (sprays in a plane), the seal of the sprayer should be Viton. Apply the impregnation evenly in a cross pattern. For carpets, use a carpet comb and for upholstery, lightly rub in Tampico with a natural fibre brush. Drying time is approx. 2hrs depending on the pile / pile length of the carpet.

Carpet impregnation to revive natural – wool carpets and textile floors is used on the basis of lanolin concentrate – special balm known as WOLL REGENERATOR. It is a highly effective concentrate (ecologically processed extract of sheep wool) designed primarily for the maintenance and revival of the natural protection of high quality fabrics made of natural wool, cashmere, silk, fine textiles and natural carpets or mixed carpets, including very high antibacterial and disinfectant effectiveness due to the extract of highly effective lavender essential oil.

ImpregnationImpregnation and Carpet Revitalization based on lanolin (Latin lanolinum – originally from rope, “wool”, and oleum, “oil”) is a very natural protection and revitalization of the color and brightness of natural wool and Persian carpets, based on the natural product of the sebaceous glands of wool-producing animals. It forms a wax-like protective layer on the sheep’s coat against the weather and prevents water from penetrating the skin. More than 180 different acids and 80 alcohols have been identified in lanolin. Sheep wool has a high lanolin content. As a result, the wool has a so-called self-cleaning effect, which means that it remains clean during normal use. Everyone has tried to spread wool on a live sheep and noticed that a sheep that looks dirty on the outside has absolutely clean wool on the inside. This is due to the high lanolin content.

Lanolin-based carpet impregnation improves the quality of fibre protection and colour fastness. The PH value of lanolin protects the fabric and carpet fibres. The product does not contain phosphates and is environmentally friendly. Research work has proven that lanolin and its derivatives have truly exceptional skin-beneficial properties and, according to EU research, lanolin, when free of pesticide residues, is the least allergenic raw material – hence its strong anti-allergenic and anti-asthmatic effects.
