Drying

Carpet drying, carpet drying, piece carpet drying, wool carpet drying, Persian carpet drying, oriental carpet drying, silk carpet drying, we provide on behalf of our company according to your request in top quality according to our internal company standards, IICRC™ guidelines and norms and professionally implemented PERSIAN® system.

Drying

Persianthe PERSIAN® trademark defines the Carpet Service® branded technology concept of a professionally qualified implementation company dedicated to the regular maintenance, drying, cleaning, revitalizing and impregnation of synthetic, natural, wool, Persian and silk carpets, textile and leather sofas, chairs and upholstered materials. This branded concept brings the utmost professionalism in full synergy with maintaining ethical, environmental and quality performance standards including contractual guarantee of the services provided by the contractor.

The drying of carpets in our dry cleaning facility is done after the carpet has been thoroughly cleaned. The technological concept of carpet drying is determined according to the type of carpet to ensure that the drying process is as gentle as possible to the carpet fibre material. That is why we have different types of technologies in our dry cleaning plant – radiant heat drying, machine spin drying, circulation drying.

Circulation drying combined with machine dehumidification is the most common way of drying carpets. Optimum airflow in conjunction with radiant heat and air circulation + dehumidifying air conditioner is most suitable for carpet drying.

Carpet de-watering and machine wringing

DryingThe preparatory stage before the actual carpet drying is the use of a spinning machine (see photo).

The principle of preparatory drying by centrifugation is carried out by spinning the inserted carpet at high speed, thus evenly removing excess water by centrifugal force. The carpet remains only slightly damp, which allows further handling. The carpet is then left to dry thoroughly in the drying room, where we move them and select the optimum method of drying the carpet in combination with the Trotec® dehumidifier.

Ventilation dehumidification of carpets

The drying and dehumidification of carpets is also carried out by means of directional fans, which are manufactured and installed to dry the air directly and are always directed at the carpets. In a situation where excess water is sucked out of the carpet but the internal humidity is low, drying with a fan + dehumidifier in conjunction with air conditioning or central heating is usually sufficient. The carpet dries completely within a few hours.

Drying of carpets takes place after thorough cleaning of all types of carpets with continuous drying within a few hours, so that as a last step, ozone antibacterial disinfection can. Prolonged drying poses the risk of unpleasant odours and mould, which never occurs thanks to our AeroFlow® technology.

Carpet drying requires optimum conditions for thorough drying of the carpet fibres and this is even more true for carpet cleaning, as it is important that the cleaning and subsequent drying process is adapted to the individual fibres and material properties of the carpet. The entire cleaning process, including drying, should take as little time as is strictly necessary. Pre-drying in the centrifuge can also be reduced to a limited extent and, thanks to Trotec® dehumidification technology, a thorough drying of the carpet is achieved in optimum time in our drying room.

Drying

Dampening and drying of carpets with Trotec® technology, which in our experience is optimal for gentle drying of carpets with residual moisture due to the combination of powerful drying + air circulation and radiant heat. The actual drying of residual moisture in the carpet is carried out using air dryers with high drying capacity. Here, condensation dryers with powerful rotary compressors are used within our cleaning plant, which are suitable for permanent use in the drying chamber.

Trotec® condensing dryers are characterised by their robustness, reliability and performance. Trotec has a drying capacity ranging from 350 – 1160 litres per day. The mobile turbo fans TFV 10 S and TFV 30 S are predestined for variable use in the drying chamber. Thanks to their compact dimensions, these powerful fans are placed between the carpets and used in three different placement angles (0°, 45° or 90°). The warm air is optimally distributed and the drying time is noticeably reduced.

The final drying of the carpets is absolutely essential. Although the final disinfection and antibacterial treatment with ozone (O₃) is the most effective possible, since (O₃) is a powerful oxidant that effectively destroys bacteria, viruses, moulds and odours and is therefore used by our company for the final disinfection of surfaces and textiles, thorough drying is of importance. This is because moisture can affect the effectiveness of the final antibacterial treatment and the disinfecting efficacy of both chemical and ozonation.

Residual moisture can still linger in materials after chemical or ozone disinfection, which continues to promote mold growth and possible bacterial proliferation. Therefore, at our dry cleaners, we consider it important to thoroughly re-dry materials after ozonation or chemical disinfection to prevent the re-growth of microorganisms.

Aeroflow Drying carpets and getting them thoroughly dry is the absolute key in terms of expertly executed natural or synthetic carpet maintenance. Our company uses the AeroFlow® accumulated/radiant heat technology system from Thermotec AG. Contact drying with uniform drying of carpets relies on AeroFlow® technology, which efficiently transfers heat to the fabric and fibres via integrated chamotte heating plates that distribute the accumulated heat deep into the surface of the material for the required time via a built-in thermostat with a FlexiSmart temperature and humidity sensor.

Termotec Drying carpets with the AeroFlow® system is therefore based on the proportional flow and radiation of heat to ensure fast and even drying of the carpet. Thanks to the lower airflow velocity and low surface temperature of the heating plate, dust is not blown away and the carpets dry evenly. The independent VDE institute has verified that only quality materials meeting the certification criteria are used for the product “Thermotec storage heaters” and awards the products the VDE GS label.

Our company has gained expertise in the field of carpet and textile drying thanks to the above combination of technological drying variants, which has enabled us to know the specific properties of different carpets and the temperatures required in the drying process. We use professional equipment for a fast and material-friendly drying process because of the quality of service we provide. We know which machines are right for your carpets and their drying, and it always depends on a number of factors and their proper evaluation by our expert staff.
